Last night I asked my clients what do they think I should write about in this blog about strength and fitness for over 50’s. It’s great to hear their opinion especially those who have been training with us for a while. They shared a lot of good insight about how we build resilience and that the exercises are tailored to the over 50 and 60’s demographic. However the most important part that stood out how people enjoy exercising with others. After all we’re social beings, and there is nothing like laughing at our own struggles. That is pure medicine in the best possible way.

Our formula is simple: small group training sessions (for mainly over 50’s) and lots of individual support, but the real magic is in the community piece.
What I have seen over the years that there is a shift in people when they start to get to know each others and let their guards down, they realise that their previously thought personal struggle/obstacle is not so unique to them.

Don’t get me wrong, the workouts are challenging for everyone, and I personally think that most workouts should be challenging on a 7/10 scale for every client. People don’t want to pay for easy sessions, ultimately they want to progress. They want to feel at the end of the session that they achieved something great. Something that they probably would not be able to do alone.

Often times people tell me after the session that “it was Hard but Good!” or sometimes screaming at me “GREGORY!!!” 😂😂😂 and then “thank you so much” after the training.
And here is the kicker: the shared experience going through the challenging workouts bring people together. Suddenly someone voice how everyone feels and it turns into a laughter. Life is not that serious, so exercise and training should not be either.
The moments of “One more round”
“Did you just say pulse? Again? Arrggh!”
or
“Are you sure about that?” are all unique that you can only experience going through same experience with others.
Allowing yourself to be silly and switch completely off from the mundane routine could only happen when you’re in your body and not so much in your head. Exercise is very transformative especially when shared with other people. This alone creates consistency in one’s training and beats any motivational hack, not to mention that social connection helps us live longer.

If you’re on the fence about getting started, you should definitely try our small group sessions, “where is no judgement, great camaraderie, varied and challenging workouts that are adapted to all strength and fitness levels”. Apparently there are “three different coaches who all bringing a different slant to the sessions”.
