Book A Friendly Chat

What should I expect my first week at this gym if I decide to sign up?

Before you sign up: we will sit down with you for a friendly chat, without that no one will be able to “just” sign up. This is our way to make sure that we can help you. We might not be the best fit for you depending on a number of things. We want to understand your exercise, health history, previous and current injuries and also see what you like to achieve.

When you sign up, you will very likely start with our 6 weeks Kickstarter program. Depending on your exercise history we will suggest a small group to start with. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced training sessions for people over 50. Before your first session you can come in and visit the gym so you can get familiar with the environment.

You need to complete two forms online to use our booking system and to attend the small group personal training sessions.
You will have your individual consultation with one of our coaches to work out how we can support you with your exercise, nutrition and recovery. This is a completely tailored session to your needs only, you will walk away a 3 step mini plan that you can implement right away.

Attending your first small group session is about getting to know each other. There are no expectations. You do not need to keep up with anyone. It is about going through the movements, do what you can, learning the exercises and we also get to know you. No judgement, we just want to get to know you and guide you to a better, fitter and healthier version of you.

You will also join our online and in-person community where we will welcome you and guide you along the way. Anything new can be overwhelming first, so our job is to simplify the process for you.

What happens after the first few weeks?

After the first few weeks, you will learn some of our exercises, and understand our process better. Everything we teach is for long term health and fitness so there is no rush to get to some magical “destination” quickly. Everyone learns slightly differently, and the way we structure the classes allows you to progress at your own pace.

People usually get improved movement, core strength and overall strength after the first few weeks training with us.
Our process is simple: get to know the exercises, learn the proper form, practice them, build more efficiency in the movement, improve stamina over time. We will then progress every class step by step and within all the groups we guide all members to improve individually.

After the 6 weeks program most people report that they’re glad they went through the program, and they feel much more energised, stronger, more confident and love their new found exercise routine. They will have the option to carry on with our small group training and either do a monthly membership with us or join one of our long term plans.

Is personal training the best way to gain strength...?

… after not being active for a long time/or despite doing all different activities (like yoga, pilates, tennis, golf etc) and still want to get strong, injury resilient?

Personal training is still the best way to have individual attention and to do a very tailored exercise program that takes into account your injuries, activity levels to ensure individual progress. Typically it’s done 1 to 1 and it’s the “traditional” model. Most people find it a bit too intense when it comes to executing the training session with the personal trainer only.

Many gyms offer large group classes, which is great to allow people to exercise together, at the same (more popular) time, working on the same fitness quality, however joining a big group class can be overwhelming as the person is just one in the crowd, and individual coaching can also be very minimal.

Small group personal training is a hybrid model combining personal training in small groups (numbers can be 4-8 people). You have the same attention to form, technique and individual coaching like in 1 to 1 sessions, but you share the experience with other people. We find that people respond to the small groups way better than one to one, and they also stick to the program much longer because of the social element of working towards similar goals.

Our gym predominantly run small group personal training sessions for people over 50. Most new members start in one of our beginner groups (limited to 5 people) where they practice safe and effective strength training exercises. Our program has been tried and tested for 12 years now with hundreds of over 50 clients. Find out more about our 6 weeks Kickstarter program here.

People commonly say/ask before starting with us

Frequently Asked Questions:

"Do I need to be fit to get started?"
  • No. Most members join because they feel stuck, stiff or out of shape — not because they’re already fit. The program is designed to meet you where you are and build you up step-by-step. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already training, you’ll follow a structure that fits your current level and progresses safely.
"I’m not confident in the gym — will this still work for me?"
  • Yes. You’ll have clear guidance on exactly what to do. You won’t be guessing or wandering around trying random exercises. Everything is structured so you can train with confidence and purpose.
"What if I’m a complete beginner?"
  • That’s exactly who this is designed for. The program starts with: ✔ simple movement patterns ✔ joint-friendly exercises ✔ gradual progression Then builds you up over time. There is no pressure to “keep up” — just steady progress at your own pace.
"What if I already train but feel stuck?"
  • This is one of the most common reasons people join. If you’ve been: • doing the same routines • not seeing progress • dealing with recurring aches Then you likely don’t need to train harder. You need a better structure. That’s exactly what our system provides.
"What if I have injuries or ongoing pain?"
  • This program was built around that reality. Most members join with issues like: • lower back discomfort • tight hips • shoulder limitations The system focuses on: ✔ improving mobility ✔ building core strength ✔ strengthening joints safely So instead of avoiding movement, you gradually become stronger and more capable again.
"I don’t have much time — will this still work?"
  • Yes. The program is built around 30 minutes a day. Not long, exhausting workouts — just focused, effective sessions that fit into real life. Consistency beats intensity here. And most members start to feel a difference within the first few weeks.
"Will this work for me?"
  • If you are: • over 50 • want to get stronger • want to move better • want to stay capable Then yes — this is exactly who it’s built for. You don’t need perfect conditions. You just need to start.
"What if I wait and start later?"
  • That’s always an option. But most people don’t regret starting. They regret waiting. The sooner you begin, the sooner your body starts to: move better, feel stronger and build confidence again
